Free Educator Workshop on Reading and Writing Like a Historian

El Paso, Texas – The Center for History Teaching & Learning and the El Paso del Norte Council for the Social Studies invite K‐12 educators to attend a free workshop on “Reading and Writing Like a Historian” presented by Abby Reisman of the Stanford History Education Group. The workshop will introduce participants to the “Reading Like a Historian” curriculum and participants will earn 4 hours of CPE credit.

The workshop will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Region 19 Education Service Center, 6611 Boeing Drive, El Paso, TX.

The Center for History Teaching & Learning is a division of UTEP’s History Department created to promote scholarly teaching among department faculty, support teacher education among our students, and provide outreach and professional development opportunities for area social studies teachers.

The workshop is sponsored in cooperation with the El Paso del Norte Council for the Social Studies with a generous grand from the Richardson Foundation.
