The institute is free to teachers and their schools.

Humanities Texas will reimburse schools for substitutes for all teachers who attend. Participants will receive CPE hours and may be eligible to receive GT credit, depending on district standards.

Institutes are open to all middle and high school social studies, language arts, and humanities teachers but will focus on topics and skills central to the eighth-grade social studies curriculum. Priority consideration will be given to middle school teachers in their first two years of teaching.
