Made in Texas Teacher Institutes

The Made in Texas Teacher Institute is looking for El Paso-area educators interested in an immersion program aimed at exploring literature by Texas-Mexican authors. The selected cohort will receive a $225 stipend for participating in the three sessions: March 31, April 21 and May 19. (Please do not apply if you cannot attend all three sessions. Participants should plan on full days.) The institutes will run from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm and will be held at the University of Texas at El Paso Library. Participants will receive CPE credit and lunch will also be provided.

Participants will engage with nationally recognized authors and scholars and will receive free copies of the Made in Texas workbook, Literary El Paso, and a book published by Cinco Puntos Press.

Participants will produce scholarship work and lesson plans that will be made available for free to teachers across the state and nation.
